Jose Ayala

Jose Ayala is a first-generation communications professional with a demonstrated commitment to raising the visibility of underserved communities and the issues that affect them most. Previously, he served as a communications fellow at ReThink Media, where he led multiple initiatives to elevate Latinx voices. Most notably, he co-led ReThink’s pilot Spanish-language spokesperson training series, delivering key media communications skills to more than 25 Spanish-speaking, Latinx advocates from over 20 advocacy organizations.

He is passionate about social justice, politics, media and digital communications. Jose graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Public Law, and a minor in Entrepreneurship. During his undergraduate studies at UCSD, he conducted research on state policymakers’ response to the civil rights movement and the depiction of the Black American experience in high school textbooks. Based in Southern California, Jose is an avid fan of Los Angeles sports and authentic Mexican food.
